Arrive in Nam Dinh and begin the day with a visit to Hong Quang Village – one of Vietnam’s most enchanting water puppet villages.
Here, you’ll have the opportunity to learn how traditional water puppets are crafted by skilled artisans.
Optional: A water puppetry show can be arranged upon request (with a supplementary fee).


Next, continue to Co Le Pagoda, a remarkable religious site that uniquely combines elements of both Buddhist and Christian architecture, offering a rare and intriguing glimpse into Vietnam’s spiritual diversity.
After exploring the pagoda, we head toward Hai Hau District.

Enjoy a traditional lunch at the Quan Anh Heritage House – a site deeply rooted in the cultural and historical development of Hai Anh village.
The house features a captivating blend of Eastern and Western architectural styles, offering both historical insight and aesthetic beauty.

Hop on a bicycle and head to Pham Phao Village, well known for its traditional wood carving and trumpet-making crafts. We’ll also visit Pham Phao Church, a notable architectural highlight of the area.
Right next to the church is Hai Minh Painters’ Village, where we’ll stop to meet and chat with local artists. Today, around 40 painters work from their homes here, creating artworks that are regularly featured in galleries across Hanoi.

On the way back, we’ll stop at the tile-roofed bridge of Luong Pagoda in Hai Anh Commune.
Built in the 16th century, this charming wooden bridge features unique architecture that reflects the rural essence of Vietnam. Along the way, you’ll also get a glimpse into daily local life and gain insights into Vietnamese ancestral worship and rituals.

We can visit a local household where traditional straw brooms are handmade. These brooms are essential in the everyday lives of people across Vietnam.

Continue your journey to Hanh Thien Village, a 600-year-old community famed for producing many distinguished scholars throughout Vietnamese history. The village is also known for its unique layout, resembling a carp heading toward the sea — a symbol of prosperity and success in Vietnamese culture.
A highlight of the village is the ancient Keo Pagoda, originally built in 1061 under the reign of King Ly Thanh Tong, initiated by Zen Master Duong Khong Lo. This historic temple is a testament to the village’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage.
After the visit, we board the vehicle and depart for Ninh Binh.
